When most people think of cyber threats, they often imagine hackers sitting in dark rooms, trying to breach corporate networks from outside.
However, one of the most dangerous threats comes from within an organization itself: the insider threat. Insider threats occur when individuals within an organization—whether employees, contractors, or business partners—compromise security, either intentionally or accidentally. These threats can be just as damaging, if not more so, than external attacks.
Insiders have access to sensitive information, networks, and systems, making them uniquely positioned to cause significant damage. Insider threats can come in many forms: an employee intentionally stealing intellectual property, an unwitting worker falling for a phishing scam and giving an attacker access to company systems, or even
